Which is Better - Apple iTunes App Store or Google Android Marketplace?

twitter.com - facebook.com - chris.pirillo.com - I received an email the other day from a community member who has some questions about the differences between the Apple App Store and Google's Android Marketplace. He feels that the apps are one of the biggest reasons people choose one phone (or operating system) over another, and wants information to make an informed decision himself. http

iPhone App Store vs Android Market

I compare the iPhone App Store vs the Android Market. Apps are a huge part of buying any smartphone and so is the way you get them. Apple with the iPhone and iPod touch App Store has a very different way of doing it compared to Google and the Android Market so today I compare both to help determine which is the best for you including the the selection of apps, the pricing and the interface to access the store.

Does being on the android app store use up your talking minutes?

No. The app store is like using any other Internet app on the phone - Internet doesn't use your voice plan, it uses your data plan (or it uses Wi-Fi if you are on a Wi-Fi network).

Also note that Verizon's data plan is unlimited, you can spend as much time as you want using Internet on the phone and it won't cost anything extra.

P.S. Verizon requires you to get the $ 30/month data plan with the droid and most other smart phones. This is in addition to whatever you are paying for voice+text, so typically you'll be paying at least $ 70/month for voice+text+data.Im thinking about getting a droid for my b-day and i was wondering if your talking minutes are used up while you are browsing on the android app store
